The red fox cub (or pup) are born in April or May, there are about 3-10 cubs in a litter, they are born with their eyes close, ear sealed shut, and helpless. At 12-14 days eyes opened, start interacting with littermates, eyesight not well developed so they stumble around the den, eye color is light blue .
At 20-24 days the make there way to the entrance.
4-5 weeks playing and sunning themselves and start looking like they will when they are adults.
cubs spend a lot of time outside roughhousing, wrestling, playing with littermates, leftover bones and fur become toys.
At 5-6 weeks grown up enough to seek shelter when needed, small enough for mother to carry around, still feeding on milk, and is tall enough to suckle under the mother while she is standing up.
At 6-10 weeks starting to eat solid foods, the nursing session is less than a minute, by week 10 cubs weaned from their mothers milk.
I hope you enjoy this, if you want me to do more post about red fox, tell in the comments.
